Ice Cream. One of the ultimate (or at least it's one of MY ultimate) choices in comfort food. Some day, Art a'La Mode will be a brick and mortar shop. I had the vision many, years ago. And although I haven't made this happen (YET), the vision remains.
I see a cute little house with a wrap around porch, on a quaint street in an artsy tourist town. The cobblestone sidewalk leads you up the steps to the front porch that has tables and chairs and benches for weary travelers. Upon entering inside, there's a few more. The smell of coffee and ice cream beckons the tourists to enjoy a delicious treat. And then, they notice the walls and shelves in the store are adorned with amazing and fun and functional art along with traditional art too. In the corner, a small stage is set up for a local musician to entertain the guests.
Another room in the shop contains classroom space, where young and old come to create their own masterpieces. One day painting, another day making jewelry. Perhaps another day is playing with clay. One thing is for sure. Everyone there is smiling and having fun.

I’m inside this incredible house filled with amazing art pieces and the music is making me want to linger, so I indulge in a little alamode treat and wander out to the wraparound porch. Sitting in a delightfully hand painted bench that I know I must take home, a comfortable sigh escapes my lips. The soul is full, fed and the vision is manifest! Can’t wait to put my foot on those porch steps!
